The Study Abroad Center has been monitoring the situation around COVID-19, and our first priority is the health and safety of our students and faculty. We are working with our partners overseas to offer Study Abroad programs during the 2022-23 academic year.

NEW:
New SAC Policy effective Summer 2021:
Participation in a Study Abroad program is voluntary. Thus, as a requirement of your participation in a Study Abroad Program you will need to provide the UHM Study Abroad Center with a proof of your COVID-19 Vaccination. Effective Summer 2021. Exemptions will only be made for those participants who are unable to get the vaccine due to health reasons certified by a physician. However, be aware that the destination country may not accept the exemption.
Spring 2023: The Shanghai, China program will not be offered in Spring 2023 due to travel restrictions.
Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and AY 23-24: Travel restrictions keeping foreign students from entering China were lifted as of January 8th. All SAC programs for Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and AY 23-24 are operating as usual. However, students will still be asked to follow any/all COVID-19-related health and safety protocols in place to enter their host country.
The Study Abroad Center main office in Moore 115 is open for in-person services. We are open weekdays from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and closed on weekends and Federal and State holidays. We request that masks still be worn when entering the Moore 115 office.
Online study abroad advising through platforms such as STAR Balance and Zoom are be available for all students.
